Throw Back Thursdays

I think Way Back Wednesday is about to become Throw Back Thursdays. I just can't get this Wednesday thing down.
This is me holding my baby brother, Jarvis. He was about 2-3 weeks old. A premature baby. He would have so many cords hooked up to him to help him breath. I was always so nervous he would stop breathing. Now he is 16 and grown.

Way Back Wednesday 6

This is my nephew, Juju and my niece, Aniyah. This day we went to the farmers market and book store. We had a great day.  I don't get to see Juju much, lets just say the mother is on a different path in life. So, anytime I do get to spend with him I take loads and loads of photos. Aniyah loves being a big sister. It's funny how Juju and Aniyah take to each other. Even when we go months without seeing him, he always follows Aniyah around like they are best friends. Reminds me of me and my brother, L.j. We were like two peas in a pod.

Way Back Wednesday 3 & 4

Last week was so not the time for me to blog. My father and siblings came to South Carolina for Thanksgiving, so I was super busy trying to clean up my Nana's house. Then when they got there we prepared the food. Then on the drive back down to Florida I remembered that I completley forgot about "Way Back Wednesday 3". So, what I did was add 2 pics. I found a real oldie of me, my brother L.j., and my sister Jalesa, from when we were little kids. The other one happens to be from like 7 or something years ago, taken on a Sunday. Sundays at my parents home is always a family breakfast event.

Let me tell you about these guys. Jalesa just turned 20 and attends Le Cordon Bleu. She has a boyfriend, Dwizzle and a job at the movie theatre we would go to as kids. My brother, L.j. just turned 28 and he is a manager at the hippedy hop IHOP. He has dos baby's, and we share an interest in being tattooed.
I love these guys.

Beach & Gyros

I came back to Florida and the first thing we did was go to the beach and eat gyros!
There's nothing like Florida weather and gyros.

I'm working on settling back in to our apartment, working on orders, and shopping for new furniture.
I think I'm going to make a list of things I want to get for Keinrick & I that we want and need. I should start setting some goals, the new year will be here in a little over a month.

I'm Thankful

This years Thanksgiving was different. Instead of being home in Florida, I was home in South Carolina. My father, (bro) Matt, (bro) Jarvis, (niece) Aniyah, and (sista friend) JJ all drove up to spend the holiday w/ me and the rest of my family. It was a bit exhausting yet fun. The food of course was freaken amazing. Matt and I helped prep the food and my dad cooked it all. There were 2 turkeys, of course someone had to have a deep fried turkey. Gumbo, dressing (which is stuffing), collared greens, mac & cheese, gravy, and more stuff I can't even think of because all I want to tell you about is the massive amount of sweet potato pies I mad. I think in total their were 10+ or something. They were sooooooo gooood.... Let's just say by the next day there was only 1 pie left.

I was glad to have all my extended family there. Though I do wish Keinrick, mom, Jalesa (sis), Chanda(sis), L.j. (bro), Kris (bro), & Ali (sis), Moe (bff sis) was there too. But my sister, Jalesa, apparently threw down on some food in the kitchen she made like 10 different items to carry over her boyfriends house where her and my mother spent Thanksgiving.

I'm thankful for my family's health, in less then a month there were 3 operations on 3 relatives and then 1 relative rushed to the hospital.
I'm thankful for my love Keinrick & my baby Rockie, for waiting for me as I traveled and loving me, and proposing to me, and loving me even more.
I'm thankful to my parents, who in every way imaginable has supported me, spoiled me, and given everything that they never had to me.
I'm thankful for my brothers Kris, L.j., Matt, & Jarvis for sticking up for me when I needed to be stuck up for.
I'm thankful to my sisters, Jalesa, Chanda, Ali, & Moe for giving me the best advice ever and supporting me when I was not so happy.
&
I'm thankful for waking up everyday, & for having the courage to follow my dreams.

Happy Birthday Babooshka

20 years ago today my sister was born. As my mothers says she was born "dead" (not breathing). God had her and gave us her back. I've been at every birthday, every celebration, I know every scare, and every tear. It so hard for me to be away from her for the first time ever for her birthday. She such a remarkable young lady and I'm so proud of her. I sent her some cupcake toppers inspired by her starting culinary school for a birthday gift.

To Jalesa, my little babooshka.... I love you with all my heart and your a true friend and even better sister. Make your next 20 to die for.

Way Back Wednesday #1

Such a long weekend and going to be even longer week. We visited my cousin who had surgery and now tomorrow my Aunt goes in for surgery, please keep them in your prayers. Being back home (aka South Carolina) is so much more different then what I remember when I was a little girl. I guess back then I didn't appreciate the essence of family and our heritage. Last year I started little project family tree and just started it up again recently. My cousin Barbra and I have been asking so many questions of who's who and past life. In our search we found out my great great grandfather, Willie, was born into slavery. I'll be posting every so often of the trees updates.

Because tomorrow will be filled with events and in light of the tree project I thought I'd start a new tradition on my blog "Way Back Wednesday's".

Way back in the day when I was like 10 my family & I drove up to South Carolina to visit my Nana & cousins. We brought along my childhood bestys, Maria and Candace. The photo was taken in front of my Nana's house. The little girl in the front is my sister, Jalesa. We were on our way to church.

Left to right: Maria, Me, Candace, & Jalesa (front)

Super way back in the day my Nana feeding me.

Internet where are you?!

In South Carolina for a month to help take care of my Nana, my fathers Grandmother. I haven't had a chance to blog do to the lack of Internet. So, I'm desperately blogging from my iPhone. As soon as I find a decent connection, I'll upload decent pics.

I'll be her for a month then I go back to Miami where my kitty, my apartment, and most importantly my Keinrick is.

This is a picture of "my" Grandmother, Netty Jean. She passed away when my father was a baby.

Happy Halloween & Goodbye for now...

I was going to wait to post about our Halloween, but I'll be traveling all day so I thought it would be best to get this over with.
Ali and I went to Teagen's school today for her Halloween parade and party. Then afterward we came home and Ali made creepy food like some finger nail hot dog thing. Then we went trick-o-treating with the kids and then off to Jodi's house for pop (that's Wisconsin for soda) and conversation. I'll miss them so much. :( Makes me sad that I'll be leaving here after calling this place home for the past 2 months. I know I'll be back soon.

To Graysen: Even though you make a rukus, I couldn't think of a more perfect little boy. I'll always be your Gina :)
To Teagen: My darling Teagen (in my British voice), everything about you makes me smile. You bring beauty to everything. I'll miss seeing you grow up for the next few months. Your a beautiful little lady and anybody would be lucky to have you as a friend.
To Kris: I wouldn't know what I would have done without your help and guidance. Conner Rocks!... No matter where we are you will always be my brother and I will always appreciate what you've done for me. I love you.
To Ali: You have shown me a side of sisterhood I never knew I would have. You're a true friend and I am honored to be your sister. You humble me and I love you for that.

To Bubba's House We Go.

It was a pretty tough week for us. I had to go to the hospital, because my inside's refuse to maintain their reason for being. But that's just minor to the sad week the Langham's (Ali's family) was having. And I'm truly sorry that they are sad and I'm truly sorry about the recent tragedy. I know God will take care of it all.

To cheer up the weekend I made Bubba a chocolate ganache filled chocolate butter-cream chocolate cake with jewelry fondant, did I mention the cake was chocolate, for her birthday. On the way to Bubba's we stopped at a pumpkin patch to pick some great pumpkin potential faces.
